Our Lead Pastor
Chris VandeLinde serves as the Lead Pastor of Cornerstone Christian Church. Under Chris' leadership, Cornerstone is passionate about seeing people connected to Jesus and their lives transformed, both locally and globally. He is known for his creative approach to teaching and presenting the Bible. Chris, his wife, Nicole and their two children are grateful to live this close to baseball heaven.
Chris graduated from Johnson Bible College (now Johnson University) in 2000 and from Hope International University in 2011. He joined Cornerstone staff as the Lead Pastor in 2015.
Chris and his wife, Nicole have two children. All four VandeLinde family members are avid Cardinal’s baseball fans.
During weekend services, Chris can be found either on stage or near the Next Steps area. He is always ready to meet new people visiting our church for the first time or to continue conversations with regular attenders as well.
Brandon joined the Cornerstone Staff in April of 2016 in the role of Creative Arts Pastor. He brings with him a passion to engage people in relevant, fun, and impassioned worship experiences. Brandon’s mission is to point to the gospel story through the arts, and to inspire a worship-filled response. He was raised in a musical family of Christ followers who instilled in him a passion for music ministry. While he has always been a musician and worshiper, several years ago, he felt the call to full time ministry. Brandon’s worked in creative arts ministries in Southern California, Ohio, Wisconsin, and now here at Cornerstone. He currently lives in Swansea with his amazing wife, Deborah and their little dog, Gus.
Josh graduated from St. Louis Christian College in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Bible with a Preaching Specialization and from Cincinnati Christian University with a Master of Arts in Religion with a Specialization in Pastoral Leadership in 2012. Josh joined the staff of Cornerstone in 2008. In Josh’s spare time he likes spending time with his wife and his three kids. Watching the Georgia Bulldogs or Atlanta Braves while eating pizza and drinking Cherry Coke is a favorite pastime. During weekend services, he will be in the foyer welcoming people or by the Next Steps area meeting the guests of our church.
Josh and his wife Libby joined Cornerstone in 2014. He has two daughters and another child arriving in June 2017. Josh enjoys home improvement projects, grilling/cooking, music, and reading. Given the choice of a winter day versus a summer day, Josh would choose winter.
Josh earned a B.S. in Christian Education at St. Louis Christian College, a B.A. in Accounting at Maryville University, and an MBA at Fontbonne University.
Patrick is originally from Derby, Kansas. He graduated from Ozark Christian College in 2009. Patrick joined the Cornerstone Staff in November of 2016 as the Middle School and Family Pastor. He and his wife Lauren have a wonderful little girl named Lyla. On weekends you can find Patrick greeting people at Family Central or teaching Middle School students.
Aaron grew up in Bloomington, Illinois and graduated from Johnson University in Knoxville, Tennessee in 2015 with a Bachelor's Degree in Preaching and Church Leadership. He and his wife, Talley were married in 2016. Aaron enjoys the outdoors, playing sports, good coffee, and Virginia Tech Football. He loves seeing students come to life in Jesus and inviting them into what Jesus is doing. A favorite verse is II Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, He is a new creation, the old has gone the new has come!"
Brian joined Cornerstone staff in 2013. In his free time, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife, Tanya and their family of four boys. Brian's creative and sometimes inventive solutions to requests made around the building make things much easier.
Caitlin graduated from Central Christian College of The Bible in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Christian Counseling. She joined Cornerstone in 2017 and serves as the admin for our Family Ministry Team. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, spending time with friends (especially around a fire), and a strong cup of coffee.
A favorite verse is Philippians 1:6 "...and I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns."
Cathy received her Bachelor’s degree in Christian Education with a minor in Music from Manhattan Christian College in Kansas. She began her ministry at Chapel Hill Christian Church (Cornerstone, before it was Cornerstone). She served as Christian Education/ Youth/ Worship Minister from 1977-1985. From 1985-2008 she served as the Worship Minister. Cathy served as Worship/ Special Needs minister from 2009-2010 and currently serves as Pastoral Care/ Special Needs Minister. (Whew!) For fun Cathy loves to garden. During weekend services, Cathy is leading classes, being a Prayer Partner or worshiping.
Dan Drake joined the staff here at Cornerstone in November of 2016 as the Media & Tech Minister. He graduated from St. Louis Christian College in 2010 with a degree in The Bible and Preaching Ministry. He has served as Worship Pastor for churches in Rhode Island and Houston, Texas. Dan met his wife Jessica on a beautiful night under the Arch while they both attended SLCC and got married just 2 years later. Dan is a huge movie and television buff and is often heard quoting obscure references. He enjoys playing boutique board games and playing guitar around a fire.
He has also been crowned fastest beard in the west several years in a row.
Kathy became a member of Cornerstone in February 2007. She enjoys working in her flower garden, reading, and playing with her cute dog, Winston. Kathy’s working history was not in the church but in the retail and corporate world for over 40 years. She joined our staff in the Summer of 2014. She loves being the receptionist and getting to know the great people here at Cornerstone.
Lisa serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Executive Pastor of Ministry & Executive Pastor of Operations. She has attended Cornerstone since 2008. Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, scrap-booking and volunteering at her children’s school band events.
Nicole is filling the role of Interim Children’s Minister at Cornerstone. Nicole and her husband Chris have two elementary-aged children. A few of her favorite things are spending time with her family, enjoying beautiful fall or spring weather, and reading a good book on a cold winter day. She also loves to help children know God’s love and learn how to love Him back.
Rachel is originally from Xenia, Ohio. She graduated from Johnson Bible College (now Johnson University) in 2011 with a Bachelor's Degree in Children's Ministry with an emphasis in Preschool Directing. Rachel joined Cornerstone Staff as the Children's Minister in July 2017. Rachel is passionate about partnering with parents, empowering volunteers, and bringing children into a life changing relationship with God. In her spare time she enjoys reading a good book, taking naps, and spending time with friends.
Raydean graduated from Southwestern Illinois College with an Associate in Arts Degree and from McKendree University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a Writing Emphasis. Raydean has served with the Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry and Women’s Ministry. She enjoys reading and being on the beach. Raydean also loves spending time with her husband, Dan and their two grown daughters.
Rick received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies from St Louis Christian College. His favorite pastimes include reading, old movies, and all things National Football League. Rick has served as Pastor in several churches in Illinois, as well as with a church planting ministry to Northern Brazil. In 1993 Rick came during a transitional time in our congregation’s history and was able to serve in several capacities during a time that God has blessed Cornerstone richly. You can usually find him greeting people as they arrive for services or talking with people in the prayer room.
Tiffany grew up in Elmwood, Illinois and graduated from Greenville College (now Greenville University) in 2017 with a degree in Youth Ministry. She married Angel Galdamez in 2017 and moved to O’Fallon, Illinois. Tiffany enjoys animals, the outdoors (especially the stars), playing guitar, being a mentor, and a good book with a large side of coffee. Her current favorite Bible verse is Ephesians 3:20, “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
Tiffany graduated from SWIC with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Graphic Communications in 2015. She is currently working toward a BFA in Graphic Design with Liberty University Online. She attends Faith Baptist Church in Belleville where she teaches 5th Grade Girls and serves in Nursery with 2 year olds. Tiffany has also photographed for events at both Faith and Cornerstone. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching Netflix, shopping, and eating ice cream.
Torri attended Liberty University where she graduated in 2009. She has been attending Cornerstone since 2012 serving in both Children’s and Women’s Ministry. She joined Cornerstone staff in 2017. Torri met her husband, Aaron, in Kansas. They have two kids, an animal loving boy and a princess. In her spare time she enjoys being with her family, sarcasm, photography, and binge watching TV shows.
Vicki received a Christian Service Certificate from St. Louis Christian College and an accounting certificate from Hickey Business School. She is an enrolled agent through the IRS which requires 24 Continuing Education Credits per year. Vicki has served in nearly every role imaginable in a church, including Preacher’s Wife, but now focuses on tax prep for ministers and church organizations.
Vicki loves to cook, read books, spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Vicki attends Cross Pointe Christian Church in Mascoutah, where her husband serves as lead pastor.
Residents and Interns
Hunter grew up in New Port Richey, Florida, a small city north of Tampa. He then attended Florida Gulf Coast University, in Fort Myers, Florida. Hunter graduated in December 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication. Despite living near the “Flat” Florida Gulf for many years, one of Hunter’s favorite activities is surfing. Though he won’t be doing much of that in Illinois he still loves the outdoors, baseball, playing music, and a good cup of coffee. Hunter has served with many different youth ministries in Florida and is excited to continue doing so at Cornerstone.
Josue Uyuni joined Cornerstone staff in 2017 as the Middle School Ministry Resident.
Josue is married to Katie. He loves music, sports, and to serve God. He also loves to meet new people. Josue graduated from Bolivian Christian College with Specialization in Pastoral Leadership in 2007 and with a Bachelor’s in Theology in 2010.
Even though he hails from the coasts of Los Angeles and Orange County, California, Justin does not know how to surf. He began working at Cornerstone in the Fall of 2014 and can be found at Shiloh on Wednesdays helping with youth ministry. He can often be found at Family Central on the weekends. Justin currently attends St. Louis Christian College where he is working toward a Bachelor of Arts in Preaching Ministry and Bible.
Keith joined Cornerstone in 2017 as a Ministry Resident for our College Age students.
Keith is a 2010 graduate of St. Louis Christian College. He loves encouraging people with
Scripture, a good cup of coffee, and spending time with his two boys. Keith enjoys all things Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues. His favorite verse is Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Neely loves COFFEE and reading. She is also an extrovert. She helps with the Middle School on Wednesdays and on weekends with Cornerstone Kids. Neely is a “helper of all things.” She enjoys spending time with her husband, Justin. She joined the staff of Cornerstone part time in the Fall of 2014.
