A Note From Chris - March 17, 2022

Believe it or not, Easter is only one month away! Among our staff, lots of moving pieces are underway to prepare for an incredible Easter season. That means a few important things for you as a church:

1) Consider Easter Sunday now
While we have a few Sundays between now and then, it would benefit all of us to take a look at our Easter service times and decide when we may be able to attend with friends or family. We are hoping and praying for many new faces on Easter, and are excited about what God may do with most of the COVID restrictions and concerns fading. That means for us as regulars, we strongly consider not only what is most convenient for our family, but what we can do to help make the day special for others as well.

In Shiloh, we’ve added a 7:30am service option for early Easter risers (technically Jesus was, too). We will serve breakfast ahead of that service for everyone planning to attend. If a solid number of regular folks attend that service, it leaves space during the more “normal” church times for our guests.

If you are interested in the 7:30am service, reply to this email with the words “Early riser!” in the text. We will also have our 9, 10:30, and 12:00p services per normal.

In O’Fallon, we will have services at 9:00 and 10:30a and plan to fill the YMCA gym to the brim that day.

At each campus, we will have petting zoos and photo spots available, so come early or stay late to enjoy some extra time together. Most importantly, make it a priority to be there if at all possible.

2) Pray For Your Ones
Personal evangelism is just that: personal. While “the church” as a whole can do some incredible things together, evangelism mostly happens person to person. So who are you praying for? Who do you need to engage to consider inviting them to Easter with you? This weekend, some printed invite cards with our service times are available at both campuses to give you something to share with those you hope to invite. I’m praying with you that God opens a door to conversations about him in the next 4 weeks.

3) Engage the Season
Other than Easter Sunday, two big church events are happening in the coming weeks you should strongly consider participating in. One is called, “The Bash”. It’s a Family Ministry event on April 6 hosted at the Shiloh campus that truly will be fun for the whole family. It’s a great way to invite a friend and introduce them to our church leading up to Easter. There will also be an opportunity to build an Easter basket at the event to take to a friend as an invite to Easter Sunday. You can find out more info on The Bash here.

The other is our Good Friday service (at Shiloh) on Friday, April 15th at 7pm. This service is focused on the sacrifice of Jesus, and is always one of my favorite events of the year, preparing our hearts for the celebration of Easter.

Please join me each day in praying that God will use each of us to reach the people he has put in our path with a life-saving relationship with Jesus.

Yours and His,
Chris VandeLinde
