A Note From Chris - August 11, 2022

It’s an exciting week at Cornerstone! There is a TON going on right now, so let’s engage together and make sure we are geared up and locked in for all of the exciting things happening with fall launches, but ESPECIALLY this week. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

Service times change this weekend!
Our new service times will be 9:00am, 10:15am, and 11:30am beginning THIS Sunday, August 14th. Make sure you come a bit early to get kids checked in and find a seat for worship.

We are prayerful and hopeful we will see some new folks as school is starting back and rhythms are returning to “normal.” So please be prepared to be kind and gracious as we navigate a few changes together.

Our new parking team and our ushers and greeters are working hard to make room for everyone in the best way. Remember, they are doing their best to make room and create a great experience for new folks.

This weekend, we will celebrate with a Back to School Bash in between all the services. There will be inflatable games and some other treats for kids that you won’t want to miss. Plan to hang around for a bit and enjoy visiting with others before or after service.

Groups Expo starts this weekend!
Over the next three weekends, we will emphasize getting everyone in a group! Whether you are already in a home group or join an on-campus group, this is a great way to grow in community and be compelled in your faith. Please prayerfully consider being a part of a group this fall. You can sign up online or in person this weekend.

Student Ministry launches this week!

With a few adjustments to the schedule and combining campuses, our student ministry is launching this week beginning Sunday with Huddles (age-specific groups for greater disciple making outlets for students), with Middle School at 10:15am and High School at 11:30am in the student room.
They are also launching High School Ministry and Middle School REACH on Wednesday, August 17th, 6-8pm (both MS and HS meet at the Shiloh campus simultaneously).

It’s no secret that a student’s faith is often connected to their engagement with other friends and leaders, all following Jesus together. Don’t miss out on getting your student connected as this semester launches this week.

I mention all of these things because engagement is the way we serve each other, grow together, and expand the Kingdom. I’m excited about our church and where God is taking us, and I hope you are too! I’m excited to see ALL of our church (including O’Fallon folks!) on Sunday!

Yours & His,
Chris VandeLinde
