Believe it or not, Christmas is right around the corner! Christmas is such a fantastic time of year not only because of all that it means for families and celebrations, but because of the message it carries for us in faith: God made himself a man and came to earth on our behalf. The truth of the incarnation is never one that should fade in its impact or far from our minds. Christmas brings it to the forefront.
It is also an incredible time of year for spiritual conversations. Statistically, the holidays remain one of the most open and inviting time for conversation and spiritual activities for those outside of faith. Be praying about opportunities to have conversations about Jesus with your Ones and those in your circle of influence. Also be praying about inviting them to join you for a Christmas Adam (12/23) or Christmas Eve (12/24) service at Cornerstone this year.
One additional event this year is The Bash: Christmas Edition. The Bash is an event we are putting on as a church to reach our community and provide some fantastic Christmas activities for our friends and loved ones. On Friday December 9th, The Bash will take over our Shiloh campus, both inside and outside. Activities for people of all ages will be going on throughout the event.
For The Bash to be all that we are hoping, it is an “all hands on deck” sort of event for our church. We need literally hundreds of volunteers to serve in a number of different ways. At this time, there are three primary ways you can get involved:
The idea is that as families walk along the trail, they will come to various spots where people are dressed up and display a scene or a general theme from a movie. This could be a fun and creative way to serve.
We are expecting upwards of 1,000 people on campus that day, which means we need hundreds of volunteers to pull it off. There are dozens of different volunteer roles to fill, so check those out and sign up to serve.
This weekend, we have some special guests with us from Love the Lou in the city of St. Louis. I’m excited about what they have to share and what it will mean for us as a church moving forward. Can’t wait to see you Sunday!
Yours and His,
Chris VandeLinde

- Invite your friends and family! Share The Bash Facebook Event, make your own post, send out some emails, shoot a text, or maybe even have a conversation in person. Whatever it takes! Talk to your people and let them know…this event is for our entire community, and you want to see them there!
